Re: Mitt Romney talks about gun control in 2007
I would rather not see Romney in the oval office, but if my choice is between him and Obama I'll have to go for Romney. I would rather see just about any of the other candidates than Romney, but we'll just have to see how it all works out.

Other than the Supreme Court Justice thing that is, but even they have to go through confirmation.

Re: Mitt Romney talks about gun control in 2007
Okay, but is he worse than Obama? If there is just one thing that he is more conservative on than Obama then he's worth voting for, right?TLE2 wrote:The Rom will be the worse thing to happen to this country since Obama, on healthcare and other items. He's a closet liberal pure and simple.
Remember too, that he has to be sent bills to sign before he can do a lot of the damage many are worried about.

Re: Mitt Romney talks about gun control in 2007
Romney and Obama do have their similarities, but on the whole I would much rather have Romney than Obama. I think all of the top republican candidates have one or more similarities with Obama, but I would vote for any of them over him.74novaman wrote:Why should someone who is pro firearms vote for an anti gun candidate?Heartland Patriot wrote: I really don't know what to think anymore...I used to think of most folks who were pro-firearms a certain way, but I guess I was flat-out wrong. My apologies for my mistake.
I know there are other issues, but you mentioned pro firearms people. Should they vote against their own best interests?
I'd hope, if nothing else that anyone who is pro gun would vote against romney in a primary.

Because I am worried about what else that dipstick will do or try to do if he has another four years with nothing to lose.74novaman wrote:I will feel that way. If we're going to get the same policies, the same ideas...why let a R take the blame?C-dub wrote:I hope that all of you "I won't vote for Romney" folks won't feel that way if he's the republican nominee.
Like it or not, and I don't, we often have to choose from the least objectionable.

Re: Mitt Romney talks about gun control in 2007
I hope that all of you "I won't vote for Romney" folks won't feel that way if he's the republican nominee. Due to one of his recent speeches about the world being a better place when America is strong he is sounding stronger and stronger and more and more like Reagan. I have my reservations and do not remember much about Reagan the candidate. I didn't start paying much attention to politics at all until the late 80's.
I think, but could be wrong, any republican nominee is going to be way better than what we have now.
