Do not use saddle soap on a holster. The baby powder works great.
Saddle soap softens leather so it shouldn't be used on a leather holster that's formed to the gun. However, I don't know if it causes the same problems for hybrid holsters where kydex molds to the gun and the leather is flat. Better safe than sorry. Don't use saddle soap unless the manufacturer recommends it.
