Re: CHL holder killed by police in Las Vegas at a Costco
I can see the logic behind suing the cops who shot him. I can even see the logic behind suing the employee, if they lied about the facts during the 911 call. I don't see any reason (except greed) to sue the company unless they have a policy encouraging employees to lie to 911.

If there's a cover up, the criminals should do prison time.

Considering the available facts, that's a logical conclusion.baldeagle wrote:Erik's father seems pretty certain that a coverup is underway to keep both the 911 tape and the Costco videos from ever seeing the light of day.

No it's not, but they have a valid point. The coverage would probably be very different if Mr. Scott had been a West Point graduate of color, just as their coverage of the CT murderer (and beer thief) would have been different if he was Euro-American and shot coworkers with a different ethnic background.
Imagine the trouble that could have been prevented if LAPD seized the King video before it could go public.seamusTX wrote:On top of that, there is no video. These stories go nowhere without video.

It might if the people involved in the shooting had to pay the judgment out of their own pockets but that's not how it works.seniorshooteress wrote:I don't think that filing of, or collecting on, a lawsuit filed against LVPD will change anything about the way they handle things on the street or 911 calls. It will be business as usual for LVPD once all the dust has cleared and this case has gone away.
