Re: Another attack in webster by two women
If I was carrying, and 1 or 2 of anyone welding a bat while trying to rob me, would be shot. No warning shot, no "stop", just as many shots as required to stop the situation. I would lower my gun as the Police arrived to take control/statements...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
wcb is short for "wisecountybuck". That's the name I used on my first online hunting forum texasbowhunter.com. At the time I was hunting in Wise county. Most everyone would shorten it to wcb and when we had a server crash, and had to re-up, I decided to be"wcb"... I use...

Re: 1 year membership to NRA with Taurus pistol
I have had thoughts of trying the Taurus Millenium Pro in 9mm for a conceled carry weapon. Have a couple of friends who like it. But... I borrowed a Baby Glock (26) for my CHL class and fell in love with it. Fits and shoots good. After all, confidence is a big part of it.

Re: 1 year membership to NRA with Taurus pistol
I bought a Taurus 24/7 OSS .40 a couple of months ago and that wasn't offered. At least I don't think it was???
My membership is at 3 years so I'm good anyway. By the way, that 24/7 is a fine gun!! Shoots real sweet.

"Another customer at the store, the CHL holder, happened upon the scene and displayed his weapon. “The information we have at this point is that the suspects, as they fled, gave the indication that they were going to run over our CHL holder,” Myers said." I would like to hear more about th...

I called and the lady I spoke with said they are working on apps from the second week of March. I mailed mine on March 31... She said to call back in a couple of weeks.

Re: Ammo Shortage
On one hand I think it's a good idea to limit how much one can buy. Leaves some for the next guy. But on the other hand I don't like it. Sounds kinda socialist... If I want to go into store XYZ and buy all of their trash cans, I can. Why just limit ammo??? Why not limit eggs, bacon, brooms, etc...?

Re: Concealed carry at work
Gee, time to get folks in an uproar. 1- The company can, and in the case of my employer will terminate you if found with a weapon if the policy or rule prohibits it. I think we can agree to that. Prosecution under the letter of the law SHOULD NOT occur. But as I have stated more than once on this b...

Re: People who really need more training
Yes, the testing should be a little tougher. We had a girl in my class that showed up with a full size .40 and had never shot it. Several of us showed her how to load the mag and gave some basic gun safety during breaks. When it came time for her shooting proficiency test, she shot the floor and tar...

Re: How long to get PIN in the mail?
From the other forums, people are saying that some PINs seem to be showing up around 60 days, and Plastic showing up pretty much right on the 90 day mark. Right now, people that submitted around mid-march have just been receiving pins. See http://www.texasshooting.com/TexasCHL_Forum/viewforum.php?f...

PINs have been running around a month. It wouldn't hurt to call. Have your application number ready.
