Re: DFW area - wheelchair accessible handgun range?
Last time I was at Bullet Trap in Plano, the guy in the next lane was in a wheel chair, so I guess you can add them to the list. I didn't pay a lot of attention to him, but the bench in my lane seemed a little high for shooting from a sitting position. However he seemed to be doing OK in his lane so...

Re: Garland Gun Range now open for all calibers
The Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) restriction at the Garland Range is only for rifles.
I've never heard of any such a restriction on pistols at any range.

Re: Anybody Reloading???
I'm reloading 9mm these days. Now I know why people buy progressive presses. And I agree, its really too hot in the garage right now, but still reloading some each weekend.

Garland Gun Range now open for all calibers
Garland Gun Range has resolved their issue with Rowlet and is now open for all rifle calibers. Still no FMJ though. The last few times out there, business seemed really slow and this Sunday was the slowest I think I have ever seen it. Don't know if its the ammo shortage, the caliber restriction (now...

Stoopid reloading mistake#37.
Stoopid reloading mistake#37 is not regularly checking that your scale is zeroed as you reload. I've had my Hornaday electronic scale for well over a year and have never had an issue with it loosing 0, but I always gave it at least 1/2 hour to warm up, just like the manual says. But tonight I was in...

Re: Picking up casings at the range
I was at the Garland Gun Range a couple of weeks ago and noticed a guy had an open box standing on end on the bench just to the right of his AR. I thought "that's odd, why would he do that?" About 2 nano seconds later I realized it was catching his brass for him. I can't wait to try it for...

Re: Cabelas Allen "you're printing!"
In the several years since its been open I've bought a fair number of firearms at the Cabella's in Allen and it has always been a good experience. I recently had an especially good conversation about Beretta's with a very knowledgeable ex-army sales guy. However, there are also a few clods working t...

.356 9MM?
Somehow I ended up with a box of Berry's plated bullets marked as 9mm .356. All the other 9mm bullets I've accumulated (Ranier and Hornady) are .355 Pretty much all the reloading material I have shows 9mm as .355 - except one entry for cast lead bullets that shows .356. The general, but not unanimou...

Great video, concepts explained clearly and in a way you can actually use them. Good quality video. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series.

Re: Help! Where to buy Gun Powder in DFW area?
Gun Gear to Go at 75 and Parker has some powders in stock, unfortunately not what I am looking for at the moment. They are very nice folks so you might give them a call to see if they have what you are looking for. Cabella's in Allen has been getting powder in but it doesn't hang around too long. A ...

WTT - 1000 small pistol primers for 1 lb Power Pistol powder
I have too many pistol primers and no pistol powder. Everybody with powder on Gun Broker thinks their powder has mutated into gold. I would like to trade 1000 CCI small pistol primers for 1 lb Alliant Power Pistol (or some equivalent powder suitable for 9mm). Seems to me like it ought to be about an...

Re: Good starting age?
Sorry for the understandable confusion from a poorly worded post. My grandson - 14 handles the .270 well and can bust the dickens out of skeets with a 20 guage Ithaca pump I loaned him. Althought thinking about it, stationary skeets at an appropriate distance might make for some fun, affordable reac...

Re: Good starting age?
9 years old is a good starting age but It depends on the individual, and the gun, if a 9 mm would be too much. Depends a lot on size and temperament. I've taught all my kids and grand-kids to shoot, starting about that age, but usually with a .22. Some of the kids took to it and were ready move on t...

Any feedback on Vortex scopes?
Anybody have feed back on the Vortex scopes, specifically the Diamondback 3-9X40 with the V-Plex or Dead Hold BDC reticle. I was all set to get the Redfield Revolution 3-9X40 but have read some good things about the Vortex lately although I am not personally familiar with them. The Vortex is a few m...

Re: Case separated in sizing die - any options?
My 12 year old grand-son asked me about the busted case on my work bench when we were out in the garage this afternoon, after work Then I went back in the house. 10 minutes later I went back out in the garage and he handed me the neck of the case. He just beat it off the decapping/sizing pin pin by ...
