WOW, I mean WOW!
That is totally outrageous! How on earth did you manage not to drive to Austin and camp out at the DPS?
Did you never contemplate requesting a hearing?
I admire your patience though
Congrats on the licence....at last!
Be safe out there and a Wally Walk report is expected

Re: April 2009 Applications
They corrected a typo on mine in about 2 weeks. (Their fault of course!)
When they say they have mailed the license it seems to me (from what I read here) that it takes a couple of days before it actually makes it to the USPS so it may be on it's way still.

I am not even going to respond to that one!USA1 wrote:boy that's the truth .Kevinf2349 wrote: The more you carry the harder it is to go out without carrying....you have been warned!
i don't even go to the bathroom unarmed now .
The other thing I have noticed is that every where I go I can't help wondering how many others are carrying. Sometimes I just want to shout out..."OK...Hands up all those packing heat"
Edited: Hmmmmmm I wonder if Cracker Barrel have ever thought of holding a show and tell evening? lol

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Of course, I felt that everyone could see my handgun... obviously that was not the case, as I showed the people that went with me what I was carrying (A Full 5" 1911 w/ a spare mag) when we got home, and they were completely suprised.
I feel much better about it now, since even they couldn't tell
Oh yea, and Wal-mart on 529 & 6 doesn't have any .45ACP :(
I was at church wearing shorts and a tee shirt carrying a Glock 19 (IWB) and the Bersa 380 (in the pocket) and my wife had her Springfield XD9 in her carry purse. We even went to eat after wards and went gun shopping and didn't even give it a second thought. Nobody screamed "GUN!" and ran away from us so I figure we were successfully operating in splendid annonimity!

Re: April 2009 Applications
Congrats on the license. My reprint came today so now I need to send my old one back.dlpinokc wrote:hey all... guess what came in the mail today??? yep! A letter saying i owe for a dr's bill and yep my chl license... woot! wally walk time!
so i did my wally walk and i need a better set up.. i have a blackhawk serpa sportster holster.. going to try a clipdraw
for my glock 19.. http://www.clipdraw.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and see how that works... any input? thanks in advance!
Personally I am not sure I would trust a clipdraw, I prefer to keep the trigger covered....but that is just me I guess. I have a Blackhawk Serpa for the Glock 19 and Springfield XD9 for OWB and I love those but I still haven't decided on the IWB. I bought a Glock 30 SF today and am currently looking for a holster for it but I am pretty sure it won't be a clipdraw but finding a holster for it seems to be like hunting for unicorns!

Re: April 2009 Applications
Today I got an email in response to one sent on 7th August 2009 (<=== year added for dramatic effect!).
It told me that one of our licenses was mailed 08/14/2009 and to keep an eye on the mail.
The other license (mine) was mailed 08/25/2009 and again, watch the mail.
Now this is all very plausable and I do appreciate the email, however, I have had both licenses in hand since August 17! I do admit that one needed to be reprinted (mine of course!) and so I am waiting for that one and I will take this email as an indicator to watch the mailbox for the reprint!

Definate ulterior motives....I want the Glock to myself! lol That Glock shoots so sweetly and accurately that I just can't give it up!joe817 wrote:Oh wow! What a great day for you and her kevin! Congrats! And what a sweeettttt gun you got for her too!

Re: April 2009 Applications
No Wally walk yet but so far we (the good lady and I) have carried our firearms (Glock 19 & Bersa Thunder 380 CC) into Carter's Country, then to lunch in Applebees.
Came home swapped guns with each other and went to church. We are a very 'huggy'church but nobody asked me what was tucked into my waistband.
Went to a gun store and picked up a new gun for the wife too...Springfield XD-9...sweet gun...but she is worth it.
This was my first real day for carrying and once the initial suspicion that everyone could see through my pants had gone the comfort level of carrying was pretty easy. Just forget it is there and act naturally and the public won't even bat an eyelid.

..and leaves it there apparently. I have to say that the customer service rep was more than a little miffed so you may very well be correct.LarryH wrote:Or the guy who has the key to the ammo goes home at night and takes it with him.Kevinf2349 wrote:You must shop at my nearest Wally world!lonewolf wrote:Most are open 24 hours, but there are only cashiers available from 10 a.m. to noon.
