Interestingly, though, they did have a casino there for a while. I know because my wife and I were there visiting at the time. This was long ago (20-30 years?). I think it was shortly after the Oklahoma tribes' casinos started up. I guess the Texas tribe figured they would get in on the action, too.
Didn't last long, though (literally only a couple of months as I recall). The Texas AG shut them down. Again, don't know any of the details, just remembering...

I am a citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation. I even vote in our tribal elections by absentee ballot due to not living on tribal nation land. Our police are called the Lighthorse Police. I hate to say I have not visited in a long time.
