The hardest part is knowing "you're good" but waiting on the scrutiny to pass for permission to do something. I'm a team player, I go by the rules but this is getting as ridiculous as the hand holding that went on as a military family and motorcycling responsibility.
I remember all about the Hand holding if you ride a Motorcycle in the military.... LOL They want you to defend our country but yet they really didn't want us riding our motorcycles. I always thought one went with the other, plus when I served that was the cheaper transportation.

Re: February Applications
I received a call today from DPS....... They told me they are still waiting on my to be returned from Harris County...... She said she has placed a "Rush" on it. I am going to "hold my breath" until it gets here! I think by that time I will have been dead for at least a month. She did tell me Harris County is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind, which I think we have all had that figured out for awhile! I am hoping I will have it before my trip to Sturgis?quickdraw wrote:quoheleth wrote:

Re: February Applications
I am syill Waiting for the totally USELESS DPS to issue a license...... I am over 135 days, What a Farce!! Emailing senators and DPS DOES NOTHING..... As far as Texas being a "shall" issue state..... Well we can all see how well they do with that statute! As the days pass I just get madder and madder at our State government politics as usual, I think we all know what would happen if we decided to conveniently "Break the Law"

Re: February Applications
Exactly!! One thing I learned when I moved to Texas from NC........ Dont get caught with a handgun unless you have a CHL. We did not need a concealed carry license in NC........ Open Carry State and you could carry in your vehicle as long as it was in plain sight and you disclosed to the officer that you had it. I had one in NC anyway but it expired over a year ago, and if I knew it would take so damn long here I would have reapplied in NC before I gave up my residence there. I am seriously thinking about applying in FLA next week while I am there and I bet I will see that one first!usa1 wrote:the funny thing is...the reason you need a CHL is because you live in Harris County...
......yet Harris County is the reason for the delay....

Hey CDcdcurrin wrote:new here just wanting to help you guys out. I mailed my stuff sometime around the end of feb, dont remember. Pin letter says april 6th. I got the completed/active message on the texasonline site either today or yesterday (didnt check yesterday). so i would imagine im right at 90 days total. I've lived in Travis Co since Jan of this year, otherwise I lived in 2 different counties in north carolina. Hope this helps you guys out on your wait.
I am thankful you passed this information on........ I also had residence in NC and was concerned they might be the "hold up" but now you just cleared up one thing for me........ Harris County is the hold up!!! Harris county SUCKS!!!!!!!

Their part would be completing a records search for the whole 6 months I have been a Harris county resident, and then returning the Investigation to Austin.Shorts wrote:I Know Jack wrote:I also broke down and called DPS today and "enquired about my application" Still waiting on Harris county to complete the Background Investigation...... What is their part?
Nueces isn't any better. I'm at day 70 from receiving PIN in mail.
