Well, since mine are "stored ready," (all the functional pistols are kept loaded) I tend to clean them the same way most of the time.

I keep a few cleaners on hand, but lately I've become a big fan of Blue Wonder's cleaner since it seems to work really well with less work and a lot less smell than some of the others. Really dirty guns get a hosing out with Break Free Gun Scrubber or any brake cleaner first, but this is rarely a problem, since I like to Boresnake anything that starts acting dirty while shooting.

For lube, I've used high-temp lithium grease, Rem Oil, Break Free CLP, and Mobil One 15W50. Avoid the grease in cold weather, but all the others work fine. I'm currently using the Mobil, since it's easy to get a rag just-damp-enough with it and use it constantly during detail strip and reassembly so that everything comes out lubed and protected just right. It's also cheap enough ($6/quart) to really slop it onto anything that will be in less-than-ideal conditions without regretting wasting lube that comes in tiny little bottles.
