I've seen what a feral hog can do to a C-series Dodge truck. It was about $2k worth of damage including offroad tires that looked like they'd been stabbed with railroad spikes. Good outcome though, since it never got to the 6'4" roughneck standing on the roof screaming and throwing everything he could find at it.RPB wrote:I was reading either here or in another forum about a fellow who needed 20 stitches in his hand after a wild boar jogged with him.....

Re: Texas gov. shoots, kills 'wily' coyote during jog
I used the White Rock trail as a shortcut in the evenings fairly often, and more than once I've seen people slink up out of the woods, then back when they realized I wasn't small, oblivious or female.PUCKER wrote:I cannot think of a BETTER time/place to carry than jogging - look at the news reports of females raped/robbed/assaulted while jogging. Many times the jogging trails are in a secluded/wooded area, lots of cover/place to hide/ambush. A Dallas cop buddy of mine used to moonlight working bike security on one of the popular running/jogging trails in the Dallas area (Katy Trail, I think?), hmmmm....wonder why he was there?

Re: Texas gov. shoots, kills 'wily' coyote during jog
If KelTec ever makes a PF45 I'll be saving my nickels. Especially if they make high-cap grip extending mags for it, and maybe a folding carbine that shares the mags.Keith B wrote:Well, I would have given you a funny look too. Everyone knows he should carry a .45 instead of a 9mm or .380. Sheesh!
I am sort of curious why, with all the interest in copying the P3AT, none of the others are making a PF9 copy.

Looks like the same article, only with more dumb comments than before.G26TR wrote:Is it me or has the original information referenced in link changed now? There appears to be much more information than was there the day it was posted. I believe it's been updated - much clearer now. Not sure if this has already been stated or not - but if not, those who read the report several days back - reference link again, is it different content?

Taking them down would probably count as criminal mischief. Actually taking them away would be theft, and possibly something else as theft of furbearer carcassses.Fangs wrote:The people taking them down looked like hippies (no offense to any hippies we have here).

So she didn't shout at all?dubya wrote:“With all due respect to his manhood, 90-pound women in tennis shoes effectively scare 30-pound coyotes away with a sharp shout,” said group spokeswoman Wendy Keefover-Ring in a news release. “We're sending Governor Perry a plastic whistle so he can leave his gun at home.”
This woman must be lying about screaming during the attack.
Besides, if you scare them away from adults, they'll change to looking for kids:

It takes guts to say something like that during a campaign, but he's just guaranteed my vote.

Flintlock LCP? That could be interesting.Mike1951 wrote:I read it that way also. When someone says 'charge', I relate that to a percussion or flintlock pistol.
I've been tempted to get one of the plastic training guns, a real barrel, and a lock to do something like this:

Judging from some of the stories floating around, the well-trained, physically fit security detail might not be able to keep up.austinrealtor wrote:Also, does Perry not get some armed guards that jog with him like POTUS does?
More likely, though, he just likes to work up a sweat alone. Physical exertion helps clear the mind, and I'd think he'd value some time to do that every morning.
