Criminal history records for renewal?
I'm waiting to get my renewal packet from the state, and was wondering if I will need to get copies of criminal records from county clerk again. No new arrests, just the same things that were there when I got my original CHL. Thanks

Re: First LEO encounter with CHL
I had a friend who was "detained" by the Melissa PD for several hours as they harrassed and questioned him in an attempt to get him to incriminate himself for something. He was on his way home to Sherman after driving his fiancee back to her apartment in Richardson after her car broke down...

Re: Renewals?
Thanks guys, I was wondering if I could take the class and/or send my paperwork early to avoid any lapse. Will the state's renewal notice include the paperwork?

Renewals?
Sorry if this has been discussed before-tried to search, but didn't find an answer. My CHL expires in August 2009. How early can I take the class?

I have a compact Charles Daly that I confiscated from my wife after she bought a Kimber. As long as it's clean and well-lubed it runs reasonably well. Over the course of the 2-3 years we've had it it's been less than 100% reliable. However, I think that issue is due to a damaged recoil spring. It's ...

I have a few friends who are Christian pacifists. They believe it is always, 100% of the time, against the teachings of Jesus to use force against another person, no matter what the circumstances. They would even reject anyone using force on their behalf in their defense (whether it's me, the Army,...

If you're REALLY into the SKS, you can build a pretty sizeable collection. In no particular order there are: Russian Tula and Izhevsk, Romanian, Yugoslavian M59 and M59/66, Albanian, Chinese with dozens of arseanls and variations, and also the very rare (never imported) East German, North Korean, an...

My 6-y-o got her pink Crickett for Christmas this year. The wife and I both have a CHL, and have been taking her to the local indoor range with us since she was a baby. We've also been teaching her about gun safety since she was a toddler. She's very responsible for her age, and has always been mind...

Re: My own land?
Can anyone tell me how much land I need to be able to shoot whatever I want an not get in trouble? Is there anywhere to look for information about Tx law in regards to this? Thanks for the information. So, that means that all the Private Collectors selling at the show are from the OK. area? Jim If they're not breaking the law, yes. And you can bet your bottom dollar the BATFE will be there conducting sting operations to try and bust sellers and buyers who are making il...

Thanks for the replies, but, the best deals may be from private collectors, or deals on ammo.....Three of us are going, and we will be spending the weekend... Jim Unless you live in Oklahoma, DO NOT BUY FROM A PRIVATE SELLER!!!! Legally, you cannot buy a gun from a private seller (someone who is no...
