Like most who've posted, when I carry a revolver it's usually a J-frame in front pocket - sometimes as primary/only gun, sometimes as BUG. I also occasionally carry a "New York reload" (two J-frames) or a K-frame primary and J-frame BUG. My biggest concern with revolver carry has always been speed of reloading, especially with a 5-shot. I realize the chances of needing to reload are small, but even with practice a revolver reload still takes me 2 to 3 times longer than a semi-auto reload. So even a 6+1 .380 LCP looks better in that regard than a 5-shot .38 revolver if carried as a one-and-only gun. But I do trust the .38 +P load more than .380, as well as the reliability of a revolver.

I guess in a nutshell, if carrying a revolver it's usually not my "only" self-defense tool - preferring to have a second gun with it.
