So I've basically now owned the other two closest competitors to your new Ruger. If I could've found a Ruger I probably would've preferred it, but I'm happy for now with my STI (until a stainless Colt Commander comes around for under $700
)I'm not quite as awe-struck, because I've fired various 1911s and knew I really liked the platform even before owning one. It truly is a pistol that everyone should own at least one.
I'm working on a home made IWB kydex/leather hybrid holster for my gun. But not sure how much I'll carry it right away (want to do a lot of training to ensure muscle memory of disengaging that thumb safety, plus probably shoot a few IDPA matches with it to work out the kinks, before I'd be comfortable carrying it).
