You just made it 3 ..... congrats :clapping:

I've actually been enjoying this thread. Nice change of pace to discuss fake monsters instead of real monsters - anti-gunners - and fake politicians - Pelosi et al.

Re: Zombie Armory

[quote="boomerang"]I think you would get a higher ROF with this

those would be good for laying down supressing fire from fortified positions, but we all know from zombie movies that sooner or later the sheer numbers of the monsters will over run even the most well fortified position. so you need a lighter, squad-level weapon such as the GSG-5 for open combat. Plus some highly accurate sniper-type weapons - like a modified marksman level Ruger 10/22-based rifle with bull barrel, sniper-style stock, and long-range scope - to pick off zombies one by one from elevated positions.

If all else fails, call in an airstrike ... radio controlled planes dropping molotov cocktails and large fireworks should do the trick, right?

RECIT wrote:My point is the same why you don't use a .22 for self defense. You don't want it kinda stopped. I want it to drop lice a sack of potatoes. Slow moving or not...a zombie needs to go down for the count b/c you know he brought a few friends with him. Do you want to HAVE to hit them just right with a .22 or blow it to bits and worry about the next one trying to gnaw your face off. Just my apocalyptic two cents.
A good point that I was trying to make earlier in this thread (a few pages ago). But my opinions were over ruled by those who know considerably more about zombie combat than me. You have to listen to the people in the trenches on this kind of thing. And if our zombie fighting vets say .22 is the way to go, then gosh-darnit, I say so too.

Re: Zombie Armory

So if .22 is the best anti-zombie round and the sheer numbers of zombies requires a large number of rounds on target, wouldn't THIS http://demigodllc.com/articles/gsg-5-mp5-in-22-lr/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; be the ultimate anti-zombie gun?

Re: Zombie Armory

I'm so very thankful for the truly expert Zombie killing knowledge Image Image you have all displayed in this thread. I have now seen the error of my ways, and will be going out tomorrow to buy 15,000 rounds of .22LR ammo and 600 Butler Creek 25-round banana clips :anamatedbanana for my Ruger 10/22. As for melee weapons, I've always found that chainsaws Image work best in video games - so I'm sure they would be the best choice for a zombie invasion.

and if that doesn't work, then I'll just have to pull out the one weapon I swore I would never use again ...

and wait for the cavalry to arrive ...

so zombies are invading, the end of the world is near, and you're going to worry about the cost of ammunition? :biggrinjester:

If I could carry it, I think a good semi-auto .50 BMG would be a great anti-zombie weapon. Just watch the besieged town from atop a hill a mile away and pick off the undead one-by-one. Sure the rounds are like $5 each, but $5 per zombie is not too much price to pay to rid the world of such a scurge.

So why not just obliterate the brain stem itself with a well-placed 12-gauge shotgun blast to the base of the skull?

Oh wait, darn it, there I go again using logic in a fantasy-world discussion. Slap on the wrist self-administered. :nono:

Re: Zombie Armory

Let me see if I understand this. A .22 caliber round, while not sufficient by most standards as a "man stopper" will drop a zombie in its tracks?

um, ok, since I guess zombies are already dead ... that makes sense? I dunno, my brother is kind of a zombie freak, I'll ask his advice is I ever need to fight off the undead.
