That's one of the great mysteries of the universe . :lol:

Nobody knows for sure , but the BG check is usually the longest part of the whole process .
As long as you sent in your disposition of the arrest , it should not add to your overall wait time.

One more thing.

Did you use return receipt ? A lot of people use that to have proof that DPS received the packet.

No need to be concerned.

With the current processing times , your status probably won't change to "processing application" for about two weeks.
Then it will be stuck in that mode until it changes to "application complete" . I would check it often in case you get the dreaded "application incomplete/detailed letter has been sent" in which case you can call them immediately to find out what additional information you need to provide .
