I think he would have a better chance against Obama then those in the race. Romney may be a frontrunner but in the long run he will be compared to Obama because of the MA Healthcare Law he signed. (Anyone that would strap their dog in a kennel on top of the car in the summer to go to the shore has a lack of judgement in my mind.) Bachmann lacks credibility to me--cannot get her facts straight and refuses to admit she could be wrong. (Her husband's political views will be a liability.) Gingrich is more aligned to my political view but his lack of commitment to running will keep him from the nomination. Gary Johnson (is he still in the race) cannot win the nomination because of his Pro-Choice and marijuana beliefs. Huntsman (again, is he still in it) believes in Gay Marriage and I cannot see the Republican Establishment giving him the nod particularly since he was an Ambassador for Obama. (Buddy) Roemer - do not know enough about him (is he still in?).
As for the Texans, Ron Paul cannot beat Obama. While he is a good watchdog in Congress, to me he is not presidential material. I have a hard time forgiving Perry for the Trans-Texas Corridor. This reminded me of the Railroad Barons of time past--take a way all the property along the route even if it is not necessary. Add that to wanting to give half of it to a company headquartered in Spain. Did you know the TTC was to be almost a .25 of a mile wide? Talk about government getting in to you life. Did I forget to mention the HPV vaccines? Perry cannot beat Obama! The left-wing press will portray him as GW Bush reincarnated. While we know that is not true, those that get their only news from the the networks will believe it.
IMO, Perry is a RINO, goes with whatever way the wind blows and I just don't trust him any farther than I could throw him. Sure he may be striking all the conservative bells right now, but I don't believe him for a second. To me, he reminds me to John Edwards. He's all spit and polish, but it seems like there is something slimy there and I just can't put my finger on it.
I'd take Christ or Ryan. I think Ryan would run economic circles around the president in the debates. However, the media knows that and will/are doing everything they can to destroy him.
