yep it is odd, but maybe they were coated in preparation of extended storage or rough handling on its way to the vendor and subsequent stays in storage.

I use berry's exclusively and have never had an oil issue
the black box arrival indicate they were purchased from a source other than berrys and the cardboard box indicates they came direct from berry's. I order direct to save a few dollars and always free shipping

were they in black plastic or cardboard?
