.... That looks like the key motivation to proactively move forward asap to take the wind out of the sails of the anti-gun movement. If they waited until the last minute reauthorization of the NICS, wouldn't it be more likely that the anti forces would pull some last minute stunt to add a ton of "we have to pass to see what's in it" type amendments to the reauthorization bill? I'm going to reserve the right to revise my opinion at a later date, but for the moment will give them the benefit of the doubt on being "constructive" on this one.
