The above video is about 64 seconds long. Please excuse the questionable music
and the sequencing of what they show.
A Clarendon County, South Carolina LEO pulls over a white Chevy Blazer for a traffic violation
and is issuing him a violation. The motorist is respectfully taking his ticket and is not causing any problems.
All of a sudden a crazed BG walks up on the traffic stop, draws a big knife, and intends on attacking the LEO.
The LEO has great reflexes, draws his weapon quickly, and drops the BG with 2 rounds to the legs.
The BG has a history of attacking LEO's. NYPD shot him some time back for attacking them. He also attacked
a Manning, SC LEO with a brick.
All this - and he was still walking the streets, able to attack another LEO.
Kudos to this officer for his fast response.
In case anyone wants to watch the more compete dashcam, http://www.liveleak.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has it, but we aren't allowed to
post links per forum rules.
Even if you watch the 9:59 version elsewhere, be forewarned that the video isn't that clear, and the audio is very muddy.
Lessons learned here:
1. Things can go south in a second.
2. Situational awareness, even during a calm traffic stop.
3. Draw and engage quickly.
