Thanks for alerting me to my faux pas about initially posting "murder" instead of the correct "attempted murder".
I have now edited the initial post to reflect that.
The police had not commented on who owned the gun.
If the gun actually belonged to the victim, but was taken from him without his knowledge by the wife or MIL,
maybe that's why the MIL thought she could shoot him and make up the "self defense" lies.
But if the Beretta's sales records from the FFL show that it was the MIL or SIL bought it, that's another nail in
the conviction coffin for MIL.

Mod edit: Video in link contains profanity and graphic violence
The above is a text story as well as iPhone video of a crime.
In Tamarac, Florida, a 39 year old man went to his inlaws' house to pick up his son for a scheduled visit.
He was in the midst of a messy divorce and turned on his iPhone to record any problems that he would encounter
with his mother in law. He sure got a lot more than a cussing out.
She hid a .22 Beretta pistol behind her grandson's pillow, pulled it, shot 3 times, and hit the SIL twice. He survived by falling on
her and the gun jammed, preventing any further rounds from coming his way.
The MIL is now arrested for edit ATTEMPTED murder. She originally lied and told police that the SIL had pulled the gun and she gained
control of it and shot him in self defense.
