Although I thought that the FBI would take custody of the gang due to the federal bank robbery
charge out of Valdosta, Georgia, the latest statements from the Colorado authorities indicate that Colorado
intends to prosecute them.
This could all change, but for now it looks like they will stay in Colorado.

Re: Dougherty siblings' crime spree: FL,GA,TN,TX,CO. Capture
Update: I just watched some videos on Youtube of the Colorado LEO's press conference.
The video showed that the car still had the stolen Texas plate LCS-909 on the rear bumper.
There were at least 4 weapons recovered from the crashed Subie: a pistol (maker/model not specified),
a MAC-11, and 2 AK-47's.
The sister was attempting to chamber a round into the MAC-11 and shoot a local Walsenburg, CO officer.
He fired at least 1 shot and hit her in the leg. It was a non-life threatening wound, but it slowed her down
enough that she was taken in custody. No officers were hit by any rounds fired by the BG's during the chase,
or the feeble footbail.
One of the brothers was captured close to where the car crashed.
The other brother hoofed it to the other side of I-25. He had not been able to take any of the weapons with
him when he foot-bailed, but when bystanders were closing in on him to help the cops, he pointed his finger at
them as if he had a gun. The bystanders weren't deterred, and kept an eye on him until the LEO's could make
it over to his location and take him into custody.
The earlier reports that an Uzi was involved appear to have been corrected - it was a MAC-11.

Re: Dougherty siblings' crime spree: FL,GA,TN,TX,CO. More?
AEA:
Thank you for the update. Kudos to the Colorado LEO's for capturing these 3 before anyone got killed.
One of the perplexing questions that this case raises is: If these 3 had been arrested for all kinds of things,
how is it that they were able to pass the background check at the pawn shop <and other gunselling places?>,
and were able to buy the AK? These are just the kind of losers who don't deserve firearms.

Dougherty siblings' crime spree: FL,GA,TN,TX,CO. Captured.
http://www.newsleader.com/videonetwork/ ... rime-spree
The above link is only one of many that can be found on the Dougherty siblings' crime spreee.
There is currently a crime spree going on that involves 3 siblings: a 21 year old man, a 26 year old man, and their 29 year old sister.
To recap: this started in Zephyrhills, FL (near Tampa) when a ZPD LEO tried to pull over their white Subaru Imprezza for speeding.
They fired their AK-47 at him and gave him a flat tire.
They were not caught in Florida, headed northbound, and robbed a bank in Valdosta, GA. They were using the AK-47 and an Uzi with a
long magazine. They fired multiple shots into the ceiling of the bank and got away with some money.
They were spotted in Tennessee, but again got away.
Their most recent sighting was in Colorado Springs, CO. They bought a large qty of outdoor gear at the REI store, and again were able
to elude LEO's. It is believed that they are going to try to camp out to avoid arrest.
The 29 year old sister is a stripper whose Facebook/similar page says that she likes to "shoot guys and wreck cars". She's been arrested
at least 5 times, for hit and run, and other crimes. One of the brothers is a registered sex offender, for sending lewd texts to an 11 year
old girl. He cut off his court-ordered ankle monitoring device, and that's when the crimer spree started.
They had an underground bunker at their home (buried cargo container). The AK was bought at a pawn shop. Their weapons list also
includes the Uzi, and an unknown number of other long weapons and handguns.
Their vehicle is a late model white Subaru Imprezza. It initally had NY plate FPE-5900, but apparently while passing through Texas on
their way to Colorado, they stole Texas license plate LCS-909 (easy to remember. LCS = Long Crime Spree).

This looks like a suicide mission. Stay tuned.
