Re: Sunday Austin area range get together
To all:
austinrealtor and I got together at Eagle Peak in Leander, TX
and blew off some ammo at about 21 feet. We were the only ones who made it.
Put 250 rounds through my PT111, which brought its lifelong
round count up to 2,110 rounds. WITHOUT ISSUES for all
you Taurus naysayers. :-)
Exhibiting good hosting skills, austinrealtor let me shoot all 4
guns that he brought: small .38 Special SW revolver, large
.38 Special SW revolver, Walther PPS 9MM, and Glock 27 in
.40.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good luck:
So far, I didn't get any cooties from the Glock. :-)
Shooting a revolver was a whole different tactile experience
from shooting a semi-auto. It was an interesting change.
Heavier trigger pull plus a back row seat to the cylinder
revolving during the firing process.
Sorry no one else could make it, but austinrealtor and I had
a great time swapping stories of all kinds.
I try to get down to see my son in Austin about every 12 weeks,
so rough estimate of next trip is ~ Labor Day.
While we were there, the man in the lane next to us was shooting
a Sig P229 that he just bought. He's taking his CHL course soon,
and I introduced him to our forum. His user name will be
(or close to?) "black austin z", so let's all welcome him when he
arrives here on the forum.
