The federal government is suing Governor Abbott/State of Texas for the orange floating barriers that have been installed in the middle of the Rio Grand at Eagle Pass, Texas.

The feds contend in their suit that Abbott's installation of the 1,000 feet of barriers is an interference with a statute regarding items built in a navigable waterway.

Let's keep in mind that whether arrests or lawsuits brought under a particular statute result in a conviction, the case rests on the exact wording of the alleged offense.

The law regarding navigable bodies of water states that no bridge, drainage device, dock, or roadway may be built upon a navigable body of water.

Floating orange anti-immigrant devices, therefore, do not meet the letter of the law to be banned.

Another facet of the feds' lawsuit involves the lack of permission from the US Army Corps of Engineers. That's another wrinkle to this case.

Isn't it funny that the Biden administration wants to nail Abbott for allegedly not complying with US law, when the same administration ignores its duty to shield Americans from a foreign, although mostly unarmed, invasion? Don't do as I do, do as I say.

Don't get me going on the young illegals being spread around the US, that show signs of tuberculosis.
