When my picture got rejected, I emailed DPS and asked if the timeline restarts, or if its just on pause until they get my updated information. They told me "officially" the time starts over, but in practice, its just on hold. I got my plastic 49 days after "processing app" and 83 days after "return receipts," which doesnt include the 6 days "on hold" for the pictures. Don't worry, it'll get there! pin recieved 3/27/09.
been in processing ever since and waiting patienly or inpatient however u want describe it. well i work offshore and just got an email from wife that fingerprint rejection letter came along with new cards. now i was on day 75 and got fingerprints rejected. is this normal? it will be 2 weeks before i can get home to get them redone, then have to mail them back to austin, then go thru the background phase again with new prints? am i assuming this correctly, so i can add 3-4 more months of waiting? ps im no where close to harris county, but my company headqtrs is in Houston, so on application i had to list this as my job, even though i fly to n.orleans every 2 weeks to catch a helo offshore. i never get close to houston, so will this throw be behind somemore. very frustrated right now, if they are going reject something shouldnt it happen earlier in the process? not until ur 2 plus months out. why does tx make it so difficult to get a chl. im ex leo, so i know i have a good set of prints on file, why cant they just use those. well thanks for letting me vent. look forward to visiting on here when i can.

Re: February Applications
The clock doesn't start the day you get your return receipt. They have to verify for completeness, this happens when they start processing, thus, the time starts when your "processing application" status updates.received and complete
Semantics, yes, but if you go back and read the forum posts, its been 60-70ish days from the processing, not the receipt. (excluding that period of 90+ days).
i have 36 days since processing (with a small break for a fuzzy photo), add 25 days for return receipt. Thats 61, one day over the specified statutory period. I'll just wait my 2-3 weeks from the processing timeframe before I throw a hissy fit like other have :)

If you order online you can watch the status change from prep to cooking to boxing to delivery. This would probably cut down on the phone calls asking about status. But that would be too easy though

Re: February Applications
if you got an incomplete message, your time stops. Technically when they get the corrected info and it changes to processing, it starts your 60-day clock again. In practice, they seem to just resume your old timeframe. I emailed DPS about mine last week and got this update. SO in my case, 3/6->3/25 + 4/6->present. The clocks start when it changes to "processing application" not when you get the return receipt, unfortunately. The "return receipt" -> "processing time" can by law be up to 30 days (which i think they are trying to correct by revising the legislation)

Thats a great way to get your form put on the bottom of the pile of the desk its on. Bite the hand that feeds ya, see if you get more food. :)MaleNurseXD40 wrote:Well, my 60 days is up this thursday, put in a call to State Senator Van de Putte's office this morning at 1:30 am and received a call from Alexis this afternoon! She called DPS and said would get the ball rolling on things! We'll see what happens! I'm not so sure Senator Van de Putte is pro-gun or even pro chl for that matter, but hopefully this will light a small fire under DPS to get my license to me a little quicker. Anyone else in the san antonio area get their CHL recently??

If you have something wrong , like finger prints or pictures, the clock resets when you send the corrected items back in.
So reset to 60 days

Re: February Applications
I redid my pictures and sent them in, I got my return receipt back today. Anyone know how long it takes from a "letter"? is it another 60[ish]days, or was my 60[ish] days paused and just continuing now?

Oh nice, what else did they lose? Re: February Applications
could be something as simple as a grainy pict, don't fret, wait for the letter :)cmartinez95 wrote:So I've been checking the status of my app every few days since getting my pin...everyday was the same..."Processing Application". Cool.
Today I check it and to my dismay...."Application Incomplete. Sending detail letter".
CRAP! I did everything exactly as told and I have a clean record (never been arrested or involved in anything). So now I'm wondering WHAT was overlooked. They sure didn't care that it was incomplete when they cashed my check last month, LOL!
