Re: January Applicants
I just called the DPS and they said their network is down and may be down for the rest of the week!! I asked the lady if everything is still processing and work is still being done and she told me one word....."NOPE" (literally the only thing she said to several questions I asked her) So ...

Re: January Applicants
hi, this is my very first time on any forum. but i have a question about eligability. 1985 charged with burglary of a building,i took deferred adjudication.does anyone know if that disqualifies me. Dunno. Your best bet would be to talk to DPS by telephone and ask them. A felony conviction is genera...

Re: January Applicants
Riddle me this: OK, it seems to me (and I may be wrong, probably am) that a physical CHL card is pretty much like a driver's license, as far as printing, format, material, layout, etc. My youngest son turned 16 (I know, pity me...) and went to the local DPS office on Monday, March 16 to get his dri...

Re: January Applicants
Yes, it does. I called my state rep (jim Pitts) and talked to his assistant. She called DPS to investigate why that would take so long. Apparently, DPS will send this stuff out to a printer, and the delay is a result of the time it takes to get things back from the printer. After the licenses get ba...

Re: January Applicants
Well, good news (of a sort) today: I spoke with the ever helpful "Jackie" at DPS. My background check has been completed, and they are now just waiting to print my license! :hurry: Of course, she told me that will take 2-3 weeks to do. what the heck? :mad5 I can do it in five minutes in my...

Re: January Applicants
Thats beyond weak. What county you in? I mailed in on the 12th of Jan and I got my pin letter dated Feb 6th. If only someone would run the government like a small business. I just talked to DPS as well. Although I mailed my packet to them around January 14, they did not get it into their system unt...

Re: January Applicants
I just talked to DPS as well. Although I mailed my packet to them around January 14, they did not get it into their system until February 10. The (very polite) young lady who answered the phone said I can expect a 60 day wait from the time the packet was entered into their system. So, I can stand do...

Re: January Applicants
CHL Class 01-10-09 in Hutchins
Mailed packet (with prints, pics, etc.): 01-15-09
Processing Application since about 02-14-09
Now just playing the waiting game. What the hell could take so long? I think my application to the bar and for an escrow license took less time than this.
