Keith B wrote:Just received a call from TABC. It was accidentally left off in an upgrade (along with a couple of other things). They are working to restore the field to the query as fast as possible and will update me when it is back.
I will say I am very impressed with the responsiveness and positive support from TABC. Kudos to them on their interest and support!!

Great to hear! And I bet that hearing from the community so quickly about the problem reinforces to them that the extra feature is being used regularly.

The motorcycle guys were very tickled that there's dedicated bike parking out front. Let us know what you think of the place...Teamless wrote:that could be the case, but i was using the official name of the business and the address, due to the & is squirrely.RHenriksen wrote:Being overly specific w search terms can backfire.

Hm... I don't know, exactly, but hopefully since she's a public employee this isn't confidential information!

Ah, good point - and the new Android TexasCHL app could link to the lookup page as well.ScottDLS wrote:Russell from Texas3006.com could use it to help determine the status of a number of 51% signs that are currently reported as "maybes" regarding validity.

51% lookup now available online @ TABC website!
A big thank you to Carolyn Beck, Director of Communications and Governmental Relations, at the TABC office in Austin. She was incredibly responsive, and sincerely interested in making changes to their website to better serve our community. It was a great experience working with her over the past month or so.
So... if you'd like to figure out (before heading out for the evening) if your destination is 51% posted or not, you no longer have to call and query the staff at the establishment in question. Go to:
http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And click the link, 'Public Inquiry'
In the resulting webpage, click the first link, 'Verify the status and other information...'
Now fill in as much of the next form as you think is needed. I was impressed that as little as the 'trade name', street name (not the entire street address, even) and city were required to get the record I was looking for.
And finally, the results! I highlighted in yellow the new field they've added to this page. RED means it's a 51% business, 'BLUE' means you're good to carry.
