Most of the complaints that I hear about them are that they are "stealing" the benefits that OUR (legal citizens) pay for. Since we can't get rid of them, why not just legalize them and make them part of the paying (collectible) tax base? At least that way we are getting a percentage back of the money they are sucking off of us. If legalized, we would have their finger-prints, picture, and other data on file to use to track them. Right now what do we have? Nada.

I'm asking these questions because I'm not quite sure of the ramifications of doing something like this. It occurs to me that the Dem's would like to give the illegals the right to vote, but not yet give them full citizenship and therefore taxation.. Why are we afraid to tax them? Do the higher powers believe that if we tax them, that they will leave? What gives?

I don't begrudge a man for trying to provide for his family. I do begrudge a government who allows the tax paying citizens to carry the burden of health-care, education, and housing of citizens who are here illegally while the very supporters of those elected officials are benefitting from the cheap labor.

I feel that since they are already here, and I can't see any state physically making the stand and removing them from the country , why not find a way to burden them with the same burdens that we are carrying? They have all the benefits of citizenship-and none of the responsibility.. If the United States is about EQUALITY-show me the equality in illegal immigration..
Part of the problem with granting them all citizenship, as I see it, is that then employers would have to pay them federally mandated minimum wages. So either the price of goods and services increase due to the extra wages (I.E. Inflation), or a whole new crop of illegals willing to take less money for those jobs rolls into the country. In the second scenario, the ones who are now legal citizens are on most likely on welfare because they have no formal training and cant speak the language.
