Seem to me that the RIGHT thing to do was to leave the kid alone since his shirt did NOT violate school policy. If they don't like the school policy, they are free to change it in the future, but you cannot punish the kid, who had not violated the current school policy, just because you don't like the NRA. None of the other teachers seem to have any issues with the shirt when he went to their classes.
The ordeal began in April when a teacher at Logan Middle School told Marcum to change his shirt. Dress code policy prohibits clothing that displays profanity, violence or discriminatory images or messages, but says nothing about guns.
