Honestly, I've given up on watching things like these. For those who testify in favor - I already agree with them, I've heard all the arguments, etc., so there's really no point in tuning in to them. For those opposed - well, like you said, it's just a bunch of bull, and it makes my blood boil. I have no desire to listen to them either. Now, when the committee members discuss it and give it a vote - that I'm interested in.dicion wrote:I can't watch. Being a former US Air Force member myself, that one guy testifying about his AF experience, and not wanting to be 'tasked as the first line of defense' at a school made my blood boil.
Apparently, he thinks during a mass shooting, that instead of defending yourself, and possibly missing, since according to him 'most people miss their first shots', that you should sit there and just accept your death.
Sorry, but I'd rather have someone with no 'advanced first responder' training and a firearm, and a CHANCE of stopping the attacker, however slim, than sitting there resigned to death.
Incidentally, this is the same reason I gave up on watching State of the Union Addresses (by either party) as well as Presidential debates, etc.
