I'd heard that the 7.5" could be problematic. Mines run 100% so far.

It was loud, but recoil was manageable. Still kicked less than an AK or shotgun.

I thought about SBRing it but I use a SpecterGear single point sling and it works really well. Everyone I let shoot it keeps trying to put the buffer tube on their should like a rifle and I have to show them how to use the sling or just put the tube on their cheek. It's not like it recoils much. It does throw a good flame.
I had forgotten about this thread.

I've taken the gun to the range several times now (though not as much as I'd like...stupid ammo panic). :grumble

It does have a bit of a bark to it, but it's more controllable and comfortable to shoot than I was led to believe after reading others posts about AR pistols. It is far from a sub MOA shooter in my hands, but I can keep the entire magazine on a 12" plate at 25 yards and a man sized target's torso at 100 with no real troubles, which isn't bad.

It's light, handy and portable. I like it.

Ballistics aren't great out of the 7.5". I'd like to try out some of the lighter grain varmit/self defense loads on some prairie dogs or better yet hogs just to see how they'd perform.

I was originally planning on SBRing this bugger. Now I'm considering buying a 10.5" upper and making an SBR with it and a different lower so I can hang onto this one as a pistol.

You probably know this, but there are implications about making the SBR.
Yeah I've been reading up on all of that.

I understand there's some drawbacks and costs.....but just from dry firing/handling the thing, I think it would be a lot more useful with a stock.

Maybe when I get it to the range I'll change my mind and keep it as a pistol.

I'm considering changing the sights too. Plastic sights are fine on a range toy, but if I decide to actually keep it as a trunk gun or something, I think I'd prefer something a little more durable.

AR Pistols

Who has one? How do you like it, what do you use it for?

I just picked one up yesterday. For now its a bit of range toy, but I'm planning to make it an SBR, which should drastically improve its usefulness.

Here it is next to my Glock 19 for size reference.

Details: Del Ton lower, 7.5" stainless steel barrel with a 1:9 twist, YHM rail, Hogue grip, Magpul flip up sights.

Haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet, and probably won't get to until after all the Christmas stuff is over.

From just handing it, I like it a lot. I hear that the 7.5" are loud, so I'll probably look for a better brake to try and reduce its "flashbang" quality. :biggrinjester:

Feel free to share yours, ask questions, whatever. :tiphat:
