Re: Texas Made Suppressor Law update
Honestly, the HPA, stuff like this….is all very unlikely to change our laws any time soon.
So if you want a suppressor, as awful and stupid as the current process is….just pay the dumb tax and get your can in 200+ days.
No point waiting around for stuff like this to make a change.

Re: Interesting observation of who's online
Yeah, I brought this up several months ago. A lot of responses (mine included) were that it’s more political posts than gun or self defense posts. I spend more time on another gun forum nowadays because the majority are firearm and SD related. Yep. A forum requires discussion. This place has turned...

Re: CZ 97 .45ACP Anyone shoot one?
I know several people here on the forum shoot CZ 75's. I looked the 97 up on the web and was surprised at the prices they go for. I’m a big fan of my CZs. They stopped making the 97s a while ago and they always made them in lower quantities than the 9mm 75s so I’m not surprised they command a premi...

Re: CHL and Competition
Anyway, I don't compete to see how I do against others. I compete, when I can, to stay sharp. Which, God forbid hopefully never happens, may help me to come out ahead if I ever have to compete for real. Yep, absolutely agree. The word competition may throw some folks off. There is no reason you hav...

Re: CHL and Competition
Force-on-Force was really the next "Level" for me. Much more realistic. I'd encourage action pistol competitors try Force-on-Force because it can be just as eye opening as your first competition. Yep, done two force on force classes and they’re great. Have a gnarly picture somewhere of a ...

Re: CHL and Competition
Are you asking about the benefit of competition shooting for someone who carries? Not really, just seeing if there are people who carry who haven't tried out matches that I can encourage to do so. :biggrinjester: I firmly believe there are benefits of competition shooting for defensive carrying of ...

Re: CHL and Competition
I used to when I was younger and could barely afford ammo. Id like to again but i wish there were more “for fun” clubs or events. Everything Ive been to everyone seems to have a better than thou attitude, and all the rules and boxes things have to fit into ugh. I have some cool pistols, i want to j...

Re: CHL and Competition
Good poll and thread. Me personally, I have no desire to compete against anyone except myself. When I shoot it’s purely for the love of shooting. Any tactical or defensive training is solely against the clock and my own aspirations. I tried competing a few years back and I just couldn’t get into it...

Re: CHL and Competition
To answer my own question: yes I've shot IDPA, USPSA, steel challenge, 2 gun matches, run and gun events, carbine matches, even the occasional sporting clays charity event. I personally think shooting under even the minimal stress of a timer and an audience is useful for getting your brain to work q...

CHL and Competition
Wanted to get a feel for how many folks here shoot competition. Quick blub about what you shoot, why, or why you haven't tried it yet or aren't interested in trying it are welcome as well. (full disclosure I love competition shooting and think everyone should at least try it). Hopefully I can put up...

Lucky Gunner puts out a ton of great videos.
Super accessible to new people to guns, really informative. Love their stuff, this one included.

Re: What the Hey.
No gun stuff for me this weekend either. I was sick for a few days but rallied and got some gardening done.
This was round 3 of mixing compost, spangum peat moss and vermiculite for the containers and raised beds.
I call this the “Vermiculite Volcano”.

Interested in the Beretta, but would have to drive to do F2F.
Would happily pay $700+shipping if thats easier.
