Re: 10.5" build input

Sent it off August of 2011, got it back March 1, 2012.

Now, the estimated time for processing has been pinned at about 6 months. Mine rode though three major holidays, so I'm expecting that had something to do with the extra few weeks.

They did an excellent job. Had it done inside the trigger well on both sides of the trigger slot.

Re: 10.5" build input

Ok, so based on my previous trauma of an additional 3 month wait, I ordered a pistol buffer and retrieved the upper from my neighbors house.

Took it out this morning for a try-out.

This is going to be LOTS of fun when it has a stock on it!

Without the stock, it's a bit tough to stablize, so it will not stay a pistol a second longer than it has to

Gotta go check the mailbox...

Re: 10.5" build input

So, yesterday, I contacted the folks at the NFA branch to see what's up... Maybe I shouldn't have.

Anyway, they show be as Pending as of 9/15/2011. Average is 6months to completion.

Guess my daily jog to the mailbox is gonna stop for awhile. :grumble

They did a GREAT job on mine. Placed the info on either side of the trigger slot. Not readily visible, but satisfies the ATF rules.

Still waiting on my stamp to come back.
Do you have to engrave something on the lower for an SBR? I never saw that when i did mine. I did have to engrave a SN on the homemade can.
Yeah, they want the name of the stamp holder, (personal, trust, or corp), and the City, State.

So, on mine, I have on the top of the trigger well, where the slot that the trigger come through, I have Geek's Firearms, LLC one one side and Sugar Land, Tx on the other side of the slot.

Re: 10.5" build input

I have a BCM 11.5" upper safely stored offsite waiting on the stamp. Don't have plans for a silencer, so I couldn't make myself buy the 10.5".

The lower is a Palmetto with the VLTOR stock, MOE grip. Put a Bill Springfield trigger in it for now, we'll see how it holds up. Haven't looked into slings yet, kinda want both parts together first, then I'll fine tune.

One month and counting on the stamp. They cashed the check in two weeks.
