Re: April 2009 Applications
Simpleton, to be honest with you, I would be very surprised to find that this is an isolated incident. When I took my CHL course the instructor told me that she had been teaching the the classes for about five year and until last year she had never had a rejected app (she is qualified to do EVERYTHING for the course and apps, so when we left her course we went to the post office and mailed our packages the same day), but all of a sudden students started having them come back because of errors left and right. She said the most common one was people who would get their apps sent back because of "bad pictures." She told us that she mailed the same photos back every time and it always worked. Seems like they are just looking for excuses to stall for time.

Re: April 2009 Applications
Ok guys strap yourselves in for this story cause it makes NO sense at all!!!!!
I'm sure you all remember the post I made a few pages back (just over a week ago) where I made a post saying the state sent me back a packet claiming that I needed to redo my finger prints and send them back before they could finish processing my application. Well, with school and all, I never had time for that so the print sheet they sent me is still sitting in my living room, completely BLANK, bur guess what came in the mail today. Yes that's right, my CHL, and it just so happens that my status changed from processing to complete on the exact day I got my license. Anyone here care to take a stab at what happened? I don't have a clue.
Sent out the app on April 9 and got my plastic today.
Sorry for any mistakes in my post. I'm using an iPhone and a tredmill at the college, at the same time.

Re: April 2009 Applications
RAN INTO A PROBLEM!!!
Although my status still says "Processing Application," I got a surprise letter from Austin today claiming my fingerprints were bad. Today has been a long story, but to sum it up, my college didn't fully process my student aid yet and says it won't be done for six weeks, which means I have to scheme up tuition and book money within two weeks and I'm still waiting on them to reimburse me for the summer semester I paid for with my credit card over the same non sense. So, now I have a maxed out student credit card, no job because I'm a full time student, and not enough money to go to school in the fall (and I'm almost done!!!!). Translation: I'm stressed enough and don't have the money or the time to go get new prints. My question: How do I tell DPS to kindly **** off and give me my money back for the application they have been to incompetent to handle?

Re: April 2009 Applications
Hey USA1,
turns out I was going to the wrong one. I just never took the time to really look over the page seeing how I've been so busy. I went over your last post and then checked the website again. I'm in processing and probably have been for awhile. So, my time lines are screwed up now, but whatever. At least I'm processing.
Thanks for the help.

Re: April 2009 Applications
Yeah, they have instructions on the letter they send you with the PIN. I click on "Track the Status of your Application" and it tells me that there is no application... total incompetence..
It says "No application or license/certificate active" and by the way, I ment to say "They mailed the PIN without me asking for it.

Re: April 2009 Applications
Two friends of mine have been murdered by illegally owned guns. I have always believed the only way to get rid of illegal guns is to have more legal guns. I'm going to school to be a college professor in Korea or Japan, and I have to get my Master degree. I'm still a few years away from that. I'd like to protect myself and my girlfriend while we are here (especially considering she is from Korea and not used to gun violence.. Their gun violence rate is less that 0.04% of the crime).gwtrikenut wrote: So if you are planning on leaving the country, why get your CHL? Since you are planning on teaching, you most likely won't be returning. Just curious.
It says "No application or license/certificate active." I know they have it, because they mailed my PIN to me with me asking for it.usa1 wrote: that does'nt sound right...what exactly does the status say ?.....i would call to see whats going on

Re: April 2009 Applications
You know... I'm normally a completely patient person, but I'm really starting to get annoyed at the fact that I mailed my stuff over two months ago and my PIN still shows that I'm not processing. I'm already leaving the country when I get my Master Degree cause of the crap I would have to put up with teaching under the control of our government... I'm about to tack on one more reason to that list... Incompetence...

Re: April 2009 Applications
Yeah, it is a bit ridiculous isn't it? I expected the PIN to come late. What I didn't expect was for all the people in the thread who mailed at the same time or after I did to be in processing, and mine still says no application. It doesn't make any sense.gwtrikenut wrote:I just can't believe how long it took some of you just to get your pin number. I had mine in 4 days from the time DPS received my paperwork.
