Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
The guy on the phone told me it just came in yesterday and they will have to send it off to the printer which would take a couple of weeks. He seemed nice enough and he didn't try to rush me off the phone like so many of them do so I am caustiously accepting that I am close to the end. I certainly don't want to wait another 2 or 3 weeks but since I was feeling like it would never end as of this morning, I will take what I can get at this point.ysaias wrote:

I would check your staus tonight after 12, I think thats when they update the system. I was expecting to be really happy when they told me that but it wasnt what I thought. It was more like " ok, whatever, I"ll belive it when I see my licence in my hand. I think I might get it today or tomorrow. Looks like February applicants are slowly coming in now....FINNALY! :

I really hope everyone who is in Harris County wont have to wait this long but in case you do try taking your mind off of it for a week or so, it helped me a little.....ok it really didnt but I tried to not think about it. IF they are not lying to you about the BC, hopefully I am right behind you. When I spoke with them on Friday, they told me they put in an 'official inquiry' with Harris County on June 5th regarding my BC but had not heard anything back from the county... absolutely ridiculous.ysaias wrote: I actually called them after I posted my latest update and the guy there said and I quote " well I'll be darned, your BG check is actually back. From what I understand, they send it off to the printer which could take 2 or 3 weeks (I believe they are done in batches). When it is returned from the printer, they validate the information, change the status to 'Application Complete' and throw it in the mail.jackj87 wrote:

Can you tell me which rep you are working with? Mine don't have a clue what to do but have told me if I could find someone that actually knew what to do they would call another rep's office to figure out how to be a better help in the future.PsychDiver wrote: Working with my state rep appears to have helped. Congrats man! It is nice to see people getting theirs but frustrating to see other who sent in paperwork after mine getting completed while I continue to get the same lame excuses for why the background check is not done yet. I had absolutely no issues with my paperwork and have been in processing status since March 9th. That makes 101 days. I'm not quite ready to celebrate. I'll do that when I actually see this mystery license they talk about.
Update... got a call from Sen Patrick's office. Apparently they do care but tell me there is really nothing they can do about it. They called their one phone number at DPS and was told BC is still stuck in Harris County. Apparently, DPS has absolutely no way to contact Harris County to check on the status (or so they say). I broke down and called DPS today. As always, very rude agent telling me they are waiting on BC to be returned and 'it will get done when it gets done'.
