Re: Something to think about...

Thanks for posting. I think we all need a reminder that we cannot know all the info in a situation like that. We cannot account for where other innocents are and are not. We don't know how many bad guys are there. And that our actions to save lives may end up in the death of an innocent that might could have been avoided.

That is why situational awareness is so important. We cannot assume a criminal is a mass shooter unless we witness him/her doing that. Reality does not allow for us to say we are going to do this or that in every situation. We have to remain "fluid' and consider if we need to shoot or not and when. Using the advantage of that gun being concealed and unknown to the BG may give us a chance to take him/her out with a shot to the back of the head if we have determined their going to kill people. We may just need to allow them to leave while we remain unknown to them. Or we may need to wait until we have a clear shot at an angle where other innocents won't be harmed.

We have to try to judge our own actions as well as what the BG is doing and not just react one way. Easer said than done and I can't condemn a person for trying to do what is right. I just want us all to know this isn't a cop and robber movie where only the criminal gets hurt. Thanks for the reminder.
