As long as you keep up with the current law there is no need to take the class. Visit this site often and get a copy of each new CHL book and your fine with the law part. If you don't shoot much you should schedule a time to go to the range each month or at least, and I do mean "least", once every renewal. There is no requirement and I will not pay money for someone to tell me what I know more about than the instructor, in most cases as my experience has shown me. I make a point to know what the law is, was and might be. I hope everyone with a CHL is the same way. I guess if someone that has had a license that long isn't sure about the laws and their ability to shoot they should take the FULL class and get acquainted with the laws concerning CHL. That is not a flame of anyone but I am coming to the realization that some CHL holders treat their privilege to carry protection as loosely as they do the rest of their life and never think about it after the class is over. I think it is shameful that anyone would take something that important so lightly. Again, that is a general statement and not meant for anyone but those guilty of that bad decision. Those types make us look bad because the data are looked on as a measure of CHL success or failure.

Which makes me think about the concerns about OC and no training being made wrong because some CHL holders take the class and never learn or practice what they learn. We don't see any real proof this type is doing things to warrant not championing unlicensed OC. They obviously exist. I think that is something that may be worth looking at closer in order to see if, per 1000 over time, we have seen a problem that would show reason for not wanting unlicensed OC. I don’t really don’t even know how that could be done. Just a thought and not a call to discuss OC on this thread. That is my opinion.
