I've taken to providing only my Texas ID for Identification purposes. The only time I'll provide a Driver's license is for driving-related issues.

I know, I know...all the same information, cross references, etc. It just makes me feel better. Especially when some clerk tries to write down my DL# when checking my ID for a "controlled" purchase, or credit-card swipe.

Well, that, and too many times I go into buildings late at night to do work, and have to provide an ID for them to keep while I check out a key or an access badge...since CHL isn't valid by itself (for the official business) and I just might want to go get a pizza at 2AM if I'm still working....this way I can keep legal ID on my person, while getting what I need from the buildings.
