A friend has a North Carolina CHL and it's similar. He said they laminate it after you sign it when you pick it up, but it's sill a piece of paper with the information typed in, and the lamination is clear plastic like the self lamination pouches they sell at Walmart. If it means saving $100, I'm willing to laminate the card myself.C-dub wrote:I remember when my NY DL was just typed on a heavy piece of paper and didn't have a picture. The law still requires you to show the CHL and ID so a photograph on a CHL is redundant anyway.
