Re: ammo on sale
If you shop around you can get 1000 rounds of factory new brass FMJ (not the wolf stuff) delivered for $350.TVGuy wrote:I have some and it's decent stuff, but it is probably steel. You can't shoot it at many ranges.sbrawley wrote:I was in our WalMart yesterday and went by to see what ammo they had in stock. I found 150 rounds of American Eagle 5.56 for $70. I have not had any reason to price this ammo before, but since I am in the process of building/getting my first AR I am curious if that's a good brand/deal for ammo?

Re: ammo on sale
Why wouldn't a .22LR be someone's standard rd rifle and pistol? If I could have only one caliber it would be .22LR. Great round for small game and pests. Even larger animals can be taken with the proper shot placement.Beiruty wrote:Why a lot of shooters seek 22LR? It is inexpensive but have limited use. One has to shoot and train with his standard rd rifle and pistol.
I have probably shot more .22LR rounds than all other calibers combined. It's just a useful round that is also fun to shoot.

Re: ammo on sale
You guys didn't actually expect to get ammo for half a cent per round? To order at that price guessing it was a typo and hoping you could shame the company into honoring the typo price is somewhat dishonest, don't you think?
Now, if you called to verify the price and they said it was a typo but would honor it anyway, that's different. I'm looking to pay a fair price for merchandise. Someone trying to take advantage of someone's mistake bothers me about as much as someone over inflating prices.

I hope you told him he is a sorry excuse for the use of Epidermis.puma guy wrote:I was visiting my brother the other day and his neighbor walked over to the fence to chat. During the conversation he started bragging about how he knows all the local WalMart delivery days and gets to the stores very early to wait. He buys it to sell to a couple of dealers who make all the gun shows. From the amount he sells and from what he offered to sell me he's very successful. He even said he and his friends were the reason no one can find ammo. He sells to local LEO's also.

Re: ammo on sale
Scored 3 boxes of 9mm at the Walmart in Waxahachie. From the conversations I heard, people come every evening at 7:30 and stand in line to see if any ammo came in. I was driving by and stopped in. 12 people in line.

Re: ammo on sale
500 rounds of HST might be hoarding. 500 rounds of range ammo is a couple weekends of fun.Superdavetx wrote:Wow... I'm glad you guys didn't get offended!
Good question though... How much ammo is too much?
and when one buys a case, how many boxes are in a case???
How much do you guys have? I had two boxes.. They are gone now. I need more... figured I might buy 500 rounds.
Would that be hoarding???

Target ammo has been selling out in less than 15 min after it is posted.
