Apples and oranges. The premises of a school campus are off limits legislatively without a 30.06 sign. Premise does not include parking lots and sidewalks. 30.06 refers to property. If a 30.06 sign is posted in or at the entrance to a building then the building is off limits. If 30.06 is posted at the entrances to privately owned property then the property is off limits to CHL carry but not MPA carry.

The DPS site is wrong. Churches are only off limits if posted with 30.06 signs.

SC law makes church carry illegal without permission from church leadership.

I do not feel his comment of not feeling it necessary was by any means a directive to me to not carry.
I would love to see a more proactive approach, considering that may not happen. I'll keep my intentions
to myself. I feel like I'm where i need to be and my family feels the same. The urge to educate and
spread the importance of this issue makes me want to enlighten him. What if I was not in attendance?
You don't feel that you are prohibited in any way from carrying which allows you to protect yourself and your family which of course is a good thing.
What do you hope to accomplish beyond members with a CHL being able to carry? Unfortunately current law does not allow for CHLs to form an armed security team without being licensed through the state. So there's no need to pursue that line of conversation. So if you and the other members can legally carry, what is the goal still to be achieved?

Re: CHL & Your Church

Just to make sure I understand, what was the purpose/goal of the conversation with the pastor?
