Welcome to the forum. I will have to disagree with your assessment of the airsoft gear. It may be great for its intended purpose but it simply isn't designed to handle the abuse of any type of recoil. I've seen guys try to get away with it even on lower recoil items like AR15s and it simply doesn't work. One of the things that was pounded into my head at a very young age is to use the proper tool for the job. Perhaps there might be higher end airsoft gear that might work but then you get into the same price range as the gear designed for the firearm you are actually using so what would be the point?Johnnelson wrote:Good info, thanks. Also, a word of advice to anyone looking for an inexpensive rig for this kind of thing. Get airsoft gear. Seriously. I play a ton of airsoft (and I have well over $2,000 worth of equipment), and decent quality airsoft tactical gear (of which there is an insane amount) works beautifully. Think about it: They do exactly what you need. The gear is all designed to be used in the exact same tactical, high speed way you need from a 3 gun match. And it’s plenty durable enough. Assuming you don’t get cheap Wal-Mart _______, it’ll take some serious abuse. Unless you will literally be depending on it for your life, “airsoft grade” gear is plenty good enough and a fraction of the cost.
