When you move and get an updated CHL, for example, the old CHL (if unexpired), must be returned to DPS.
ETA: just looked at GC 411.181 Notice of Change of Address or Name - nothing about returning the original license.
If you had a NSA license, and changed it to a SA you had to send the NSA back in. I was confused about that and got some clarification from DPS on that last year.
