I wanted some lunch , I walked out of the hotel carrying. Unknown to me the hotel was next to an elementary school.

I knew I was covered by my CHL This just shows how easy it is to stray into a GUN Free Zone without knowing it.

Would you put it past Obama to ruthlessly enforce the Gun Free School law :leaving
No. He is an ends justifies the means no matter the costs type individual. I put nothing past him.

Parked on the street?

Live across the street from a school and have a gun in your house?

I know these questions are getting stupid but it sounds like the law is stupid.
It's not illegal to have a gun on your private property even if it is spitting distance from the school.
"(B) Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the possession of a firearm—
(i) on private property not part of school grounds;"

MCGREGOR (November 4, 2013) McGregor police arrested a man Friday following a traffic stop after they found a loaded handgun in the car.

Charles Ray Seniceros, 31, posted a $3,000 bond Saturday and was released from the McLennan County Jail after he was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon in a school zone.

McGregor police Detective Joe Coy said officers stopped a car at about 3:30 p.m. Friday near the McGregor Elementary School after receiving a tip that the driver of the car was going to the school to pick up his children and was carrying a weapon.

Police stopped the car and while searching the vehicle found a loaded .40-caliber handgun under the seat.

The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to county jail, Coy said.
Maybe a mad wife tipped them off.
