Good, you're in luck. Walmart also carries lake city 55gr boat tail 420 rounds in an ammo can for $159 + tax.cajunautoxer wrote:Yes but it also depends on what you need the ammo for? That is basically the same price as 420 rounds of the lake city 5.56 that comes with the ammo can.

One is the 420 round cans of American Eagle M855 62 grain penetrators for $184.95 at Cabela's, and the other is the 500 round box of the same cartridge, loose packed, from AmmunitionToGo.com, for $214.95. The former turns out to be $.4405/round, the latter is $.4299/round....cheaper. But, when you figure in the price of freight, that better price goes up to $.4585/round. Now, I'm going to be near Cabela's tomorrow, and it won't be that big of a deal to drop by there and pick up a 420 round can......or two.
So even if you can get a better price per round, it doesn't always work out for the best when you figure in the freight. Just something to think about.

If you go to Walmart's website you can actually see which stores have it in stock. Select your store, if it says "out of stock" you can select to view other stores. Usually it will display about 15 stores (stores within 50 miles). Most of the stores I have found it in say "limited stock" which so far has meant 3 - 5 cases. Every store that I have gone to that displayed "limited stock" has had it when I arrived. At several stores I have had to ask them to bring it out from the back and have had to to show them on my phone that they actually have it in stock. After my purchase I immediately check the site again and it will show "out of stock" for that store. So the inventory update appears to be real time.x007x wrote:I went to walmart online to look at the stores that sell it.. Found out that 3 of them sell it.. I go to the stores one by one due to find out that none of the stores actually carry the bulk ammo. irritated me off cause I wasted the gas.. I did call all of them but the people were putting me on hold for more than 5 min to see if they have it...It is not hard to see a giant ammo crate behind the counter. They were clueless on the phone to what I was talking about.

The last week is the first time I've seen it. I've had to ask for it - they keep it in the back.C-dub wrote:That's a good price. Unfortunately, I've never seen this at any of the Walmarts in my area that I get to. I'll have to keep my eye out for this when I get a bit out of my normal area.

Try Walmart - last night I bought 2 420 round cases of 5.56 M855 on stripper clips in a .30 cal can for $159.00 each. Just checked Walmarts site - 9 area stores showing limited stock - sku # is UPC: 0002946556378.
