I've been reading more about the current case. The 5 year old was listed as missing for 7 years before they found out he had been killed. The father had been actively searching for his son those seven years. He started drinking and pretty much lost everything in the process.
He was able to put his life back together. Had stopped drinking through the support of wife and family. Wife has passed away and the announcement of the early release has brought back all the old wounds. I don't think this father feels like he has much to lose.

Somehow the media found out the details of when and where they were moving the scumbag. A reporter then informed the father.Bullwhip wrote:I thought "gary why" was just for the camera, deputy probably knew it was gonna happen and helped make it so.jimlongley wrote:Let's put it this way, I think "Gary why" was a redundant question and I know what I would have done under the circumstances.

Remember that like it was yesterday. Lived in New Orleans when it happened. Have walked by that very spot in the airport many times. People wanted to give the guy a medal.Bullwhip wrote:

Re: Father Says He Will Murder His 5-Year-Old's Killer
According to the article 40 years was part of a deal reached in order to keep the family from having to sit through the details that would have come out and been made public in a trial.C-dub wrote:Yes, but even someone very important to this forum has said that sometimes a person just needs killing.Keith B wrote:OK folks, remember the rules. While you can discuss this issue, the rules clearly state condoning illegal activity is forbidden on this forum.
I think the father wants to do it if the guy gets out, but I'm not sure he would. It's kind of like the person that calls the suicide hot line saying they're going to kill themselves, but they are really just crying out for help. This father might want this guy dead, but I don't think his subconscious will let him do it and he's doing whatever he can to keep them from releasing this guy. I think if he were really going to kill the guy he wouldn't have said a thing and just waited until he was released.
I also don't understand how this guy did not get the death penalty. Was it just because he was 16y when he committed the murder?

Not sure what I would do in this Fathers shoes. Thankfully I'm not in his shoes.

John Foreman said in an interview Monday with WPRO-AM radio that he will kill convicted murderer Michael Woodmansee "as aggressively and as painfully" as he killed his son if Woodmansee is released from prison early.
Woodmansee, who was 16 years old at the time, kidnapped and killed Jason Foreman in 1975 in South Kingstown, R.I. He confessed and was convicted of second-degree murder eight years later.
Jason Foreman was presumed to be missing until 1982, when Woodmansee tried to lure another boy into his home. The boy escaped and police began to question Woodmansee about Foreman's disappearance.
Authorities found the boy's skull and bones on Woodmansee's , along with a journal that detailed the gruesome killing. John Foreman told the radio station that Woodmansee wrote about eating his son's flesh in the journal.
