Re: Travel dilemma...

I would suggest leaving it with a friend in Houston but you probably thought of that already. If nothing else works out, you could pawn it Thursday and then redeem it when you return, assuming the pawn shop's business hours are convenient for your flights.

Re: campus carry makes it to the floor

The 7-1 vote by the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety sends the bill to the full House for consideration. The committee did not debate the bill before taking a vote.Read more: http://www.myfoxaustin.com/story/21946696/texas-house-panel-approves-guns-on-campus-bill#ixzz2QCn2FFtC...

Re: What would you do if a 10 year old pulled a gun on you?

Why should I, or anyone for that matter, feel any remorse? We did nothing wrong. We didn't asked to be threatened. As you said, they were "playing a dangerous game t best". At worst they were armed with a real gun and threatening you. And you'd have had a split second to make that determi...

Re: Wives during crisis: call the police or the husband?

Based on some of the 911 calls we have heard, I'm not sure that's such a bad idea. The 911 dispatcher is a lot more likely to put her at risk by suggesting she not shoot the thug kicking in the door, or even tell her to put the gun away. Presumably her husband loves her and will encourage her to do ...

Re: Getting discouraged

I may ruffle some feathers with this comment, but I think it needs to be said.

If your legislator voted for Straus as speaker in 2011, and you voted for him/her in 2012, and he/she voted for Straus as speaker again in 2013, then you're part of the problem.

It was not nice for her to refuse to sit in the back of the bus, but everyone knows her name now. She did what was right. we gun owners dont have to be extra good citizens so no one will take away our right. if it is a right, a constitutional right, then live as such. I think there weren't any open...

If the gun battle is already running my first priority is to avoid getting tagged by "friendly fire" but in general I agree with you.

Re: Info from Sen Feinstein's website on proposed ban

Let us all know how that "keep them if they are registered" thing works out for you. It's been working for almost 80 years as far as I can tell. Look, I don't like it, but the reality is if the NFA is Constitutional then adding semiautomatics to the list of NFA firearms doesn't change tha...

I wonder if the people who opposed a conservative nominee are having second thoughts yet.

It's sad to admit it but it's what Republican voters deserve for backing the RINO herd.

I explained how grandfathering can work and has sometimes worked in the past. Like it or not, it's true.

If it passes, and that is a big IF, at least the weapons currently owned will be "grandfathered." Wrong. They have to be registered. If you don't register then you'll be a criminal. Actually, that is the epitome of grandfathering. If you can prove you had them before the ban, by registeri...

Straus is a fox guarding the henhouse. He even fooled some gun rights organizations to give him the A rating.

But I don't know how calling senators will stop him from becoming Speaker of the House again. :biggrinjester:
