Regarding car carry, here is what the penal code says,
Since a misdemeanor does not prohibit you by law from owning a gun (unless it is a domestic violence misdemeanor, which this, obviously, is not), I see no reason why you cannot carry in your vehicle legally, as it says nothing about being under probation. But again, I am not a lawyer.(a-1) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly,
or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a
motor vehicle that is owned by the person or under the person's
control at any time in which:
(1) the handgun is in plain view; or
(2) the person is:
(A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor
that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic;
(B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or
(C) a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section
71.01.
And, as I am sure Jesus would say, "I forgive you, and your Heavenly Father forgives you. Go forth and sin no more."
WildBill beat me to a reply, and I cannot refute what he said, as I have no experience with the Probationary system, other than a probation officer having my cell number attached to a "missing" probationer whom I have never met! Once again, I am not a lawyer!
