Not by my wife I wouldn't be.

I hope you find the right buyer! That is a great setup.

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

Good luck with their customer service, I've heard they're a real pain to deal with, but hopefully they will take care of you. They quoted 5-6 week turnaround time and had it back in 3. I got a call when they shipped it back to me, but didn't offer a tracking number - I should have asked, I suppose....

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

Just got a call from Kimber that they are done and I should have it back Tuesday. According to the rep they 'refit the barrel'.

I'm hoping to provide a positive range report next week.

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

You might review this thread to catch up on the experiences some folks have been reporting. Thanks, that's the one I turned up. This is stuff that was acquired over the last year from different lots - but of course I don't have the boxes of what I've fired to confirm the manufacture location. I'm n...

Horrible news from Lone Star Gun Range

I am a 'fan' of the range on Facebook and this was posted earlier today. FOR THOSE WHO KNEW AND LOVED MATT BILLINGSLEY OWNER OF THE RANGE......HE PASSED AWAY TODAY IN A HEAVY EQUIPMENT ACCIDENT. WE WILL HAVE FUNERAL INFORMATION POSTED SOON. HE WILL BE MISSED SO MUCH. It looks like Matt posted here a...

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

In view of the large number of serious problem reports lately with WWB, I'd suggest trying another good brand (e.g. Remington) to see if the problem persists. If not, all you may need to do is change ammo brands. I guess I'm a bit out of the loop. I haven't seen the reports of issues, but I'll go s...

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

The slide can be closed, but I'd say it requires force rather than pressure. A pretty solid rap on the back of the slide will place it back into battery. What type of ammo are you using - FMJ, hollowpoints, etc.? Factory or reload? It's all been WWB FMJ, with the exception of one box of PDX1 that f...

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

I'm curious....the picture looks more like a Failure To Extract (FTE) vs. an FTF. And if I can respectfully share a thought.....that gun is dirty man! Give that baby a bath! Maybe that will help with some of the issues? Keep us posted! Despite what it looks like, that is a round that has failed to ...

Re: My New Kimber (with apologies to USA1)

A bit too long since my last update, but I now have 800 rounds through the pistol with the last few hundred using a Wolff spring, and I'm still getting a 2-6% FTF rate. http://i53.tinypic.com/rsblac.jpg I have my RMA in hand and the pistol goes back tomorrow. I have about a month left in my 1 year w...

Re: Sent off the Kimber

I'm posting this semi-rhetorical question preemptively, as I am one bad trip to the range from sending back my Super Carry Pro.

Is it really a positive for customer service if you have to send back a NIB pistol on your own dime because it malfunctioned, no matter what Kimber did after receiving it?

Re: .40 cal Budget Question

Cop trade in Glock 22 at GT Distributors in Austin for $285 + tax (also if you check in with them regularly, they often get Glock 23 trade-ins for aboout $300-$325 two boxes (40 rounds) of Winchester Bonded PDX ammo from Wal Mart ~ $20 each then as many 50-round boxes of Federal FMJ at $13.47 each ...

My first instinct would be to offset the gas ports about 60 degrees from their neighbor when I reassembled it.
