I talked to the guys at the firing line and was told they require that they are named on your instructor insurance policy. they also require a $350 fee to allow you to use the range and $50 per class to reserve a time slot.

in the short class they skip the teaching methods and most anything that is in the NRA instructor certification class. in the class that I took DPS was working on a new format that would allow more short classes in the schedule but I am not sure if the new format made the cut or not.

we were told during the June class that as long as our weapons were concealed and stayed that way we could carry. you are able to teach as soon as you qaulify as long as the background has been completed. if the background has not been completed they hold the certificate until it is done.

after you do the prints you have to send in the chl-90 and the affidavids. once all that is received at DPS they will process it and complete a backgropund check. after all that you will be offered a class to attend. afaik. in the process my self

I was told there was test that had to be passed to be eligible to take the shorter instructor class. if you are unable to pass the test you are automatically moved to the 36 hour class. is my information incorrect?
