Not sure why the OP went for a Utah CHL, but I thought I'd give you guys my perspective about deciding on an out-of-state concealed carry license over a Texas CHL. I decided to go with a non-resident Florida CWL instead of the Texas CHL for several reasons -- mostly because it was cheaper, the processing times are much faster, and the license is valid for 7 years. Your mileage may vary, but this was the best choice for me. I see no reason for me to go ahead and apply for a Texas CHL in addition to this.
